BRICKYARD ESTATES HISTORY
Brickyard Estates of New Baden Inc. was formed in 2003 by Scott and Renee Meinhardt of New Baden to be a family oriented home rental and property management company. The name Brickyard Estates was adopted when the Meinhardt’s purchased a piece of property that was used in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s as a portion of a brick manufacturing plant for the blossoming village of New Baden.
New Baden was laid out as a village in 1855 and has enjoyed 150+ years of prosperous growth. New Baden, Illinois lies 27 Miles East of downtown St. Louis and 10 Miles East of Scott Air Force Base, at the junction of Interstate 64 and Illinois Route 161. What started out as a simple mining and farming settlement has become a quiet bedroom community with all the advantages of small town life, yet downtown St. Louis and the shopping meccas of Fairview Heights and O’Fallon are just minutes and only a couple of stop signs away. Scott Air Force Base is the largest employer in the region and all the local communities are heavily weighted with active duty and retired military personnel as well as those who work for the federal government and it’s subcontractors.
The prosperity of New Baden has rubbed off consequently Brickyard Estates has expanded to other local communities in Clinton and St. Clair counties, such as Trenton and Mascoutah. Yet, the focus has not changed, high quality properties for high quality families. These surrounding communities also offer what the Meinhardts see as the essential elements of family life. Like New Baden, these towns offer a brief commute to Scott Air Force Base or downtown St. Louis.
